| Carla at Blue Oregon has been on Kurt Schrader (OR-5), who's been unwilling to say whether he'll support the health care reform when it finally comes to a vote in the House, probably later this evening.
While callers were getting through to DeFazio's, Wu's, and Blumenauer's offices in DC today, it looked for a while like Schrader and staff had put the phone under the couch cushion and left the office, locking the door behind them. In the comments at BO we're assured that Schrader's office is open for business today, just swamped with calls (many, apparently, from out of state).
If you're of a mind to let Schrader know you expect him to vote with House Democratic Caucus on an bill that has the support of a majority in his district and his state, and you don't want your message to sit in his voice mail queue until Monday morning, Goldy at Horse's Ass recommends contacting Chris Huckleberry (Schrader's Legislative Director) directly.
(Blue Oregon originally had the direct number posted, but--for reasons you can read and judge for yourself in the comment thread--it's been replaced by the main line to Schrader's office, which, one supposes, gets you to voice mail slightly quicker. If you'd rather be less disruptive, you can email Schrader's office here.)
Whether you're inclined to be polite or disruptive, daylight's burning.
