You might think that Bethlehem Shoals is where Jewish people vacation in Alabama, but it's actually the nom de plume of the blogauthor for Free Darko, a nationally-known hoops blog. Nathaniel Friedman is the name of the actual human, and both of them will be in town tonight at Powell's for a reading from his new book, the Macrophenomenal Basketball Almanac. Billed as a book for both the hardcore hoops fan and the neophyte reader who isn't even sure s/he likes sports, it's a neat volume that undoubtedly will be made neater by the presence of the author.
The sponsor for tonight's reading will be the boys at Blazer's Edge, Dave and Ben. They're becoming semi-national blog authors themselves, and I'm sure will make FD/BS/NF feel welcomed. And they'll have lots of help from other Blazer Bloggerati like myself, who will also attend and hopefully head next door to Henry's for the afterparty, around 9pm.
